Billy Royal Saddle Warranty
What Billy Royal listings say about warranty: a lifetime warranty on the tree for some saddles, a workman's warranty on some tack, and what is unconfirmed.
Warranty wording on tack listings can be easy to over-read. This guide separates what the Billy Royal listings actually say from what they do not, so you know what to ask before relying on coverage.
The short version
Several Billy Royal saddle listings advertise a lifetime warranty on the tree. Some Hermann Oak headstall listings mention a workman's warranty. Nothing in the listings reviewed amounts to a lifetime warranty on every part of every product.
What the listings say
| Model | Warranty wording in the listing |
|---|---|
| Sedona | Lifetime warranty on the custom-made wooden, rawhide wrapped tree |
| Scottsdale Supreme Classic | Lifetime warranty on the custom-made wooden, rawhide wrapped tree |
| Pro Work Saddle II | "Lifetime warranty", with no scope given in the text reviewed |
| Elite Floral Tooled | Not restated in the Amazon text reviewed; Schneiders' own product page for the model refers to lifetime tree coverage |
| Hermann Oak Browband Headstall | A "workman's warranty", terms not given |
Other Billy Royal saddles and tack, such as the Tucson Reining Saddle, do not state a warranty in the listing text reviewed.
What a tree warranty usually means
The tree is the structural frame of the saddle, so tree coverage deals with the frame itself. It does not by default cover leather, stitching, tooling, hardware, trim or the sheepskin. The wording "lifetime warranty on the tree" should be read exactly as written.
What is not promised
Do not assume any of the following unless a written document says so:
- Lifetime replacement of leather or stitching.
- Coverage for normal wear and tear.
- Coverage after an accident or misuse.
- Coverage that transfers to a second owner.
- Lifetime coverage across the whole range.
Warranty is not the same as fit
A warranty does not cover a saddle that is the wrong size or shape for your horse. If you are worried about fit, use Fit check early and use the return channel of the seller you bought from; see Buying on Amazon.
How to claim or ask
- Keep the proof of purchase (the order confirmation) and the model name.
- Photograph the problem, including any stamps, serial markings and the underside of the saddle.
- Contact Schneiders customer service, which handles Billy Royal support. Contact details are on the Contact page.
- Ask in writing for the warranty terms, any exclusions, and whether they apply to your purchase route.
This site does not issue or administer warranties.
Used and secondhand saddles
The listings do not say whether a warranty passes to a second owner. Assume it may not unless Schneiders confirms. If you are buying used, see Identify a used or vintage saddle.
Care and warranty
Neglect or damage is a common reason that claims are refused. Keeping a saddle clean, dry and properly stored helps both the leather and any claim. See Saddle storage.
What we can't confirm
- The exact terms, exclusions, claim process and transferability of any Billy Royal warranty are not published in the listings.
- The Pro Work Saddle II listing says "lifetime warranty" without saying lifetime warranty on what. Confirm before purchase.
- Warranty terms may change. Always check the current listing and the written terms from Schneiders.
